About the Simmons Family -

Matt and I have been married since April of 2006. By July of that same year we found out I was pregnant with our first child, Teagan. She was a sudden, but very happy surprise for us, and a blessing in our lives. Matt has been working at UPS for the last 5 years and running his used car dealership, Advantage Auto Sales. He has been a busy, loving father and a huge help to me and the kids. I have been doing in home day-care at our house and staying home with the kids. In 2007, we found out I was pregnant with our first baby boy, Hayes. Hayes has been a very happy boy with a very sweet cuddly nature, like his dad. We have been enjoying being parents and are now expecting our 3rd and final baby. Carla is pregnant and due August 2nd, 2011. We will keep you posted on the status of Carla and the baby.

Teagan's First day of Pre-School

We started Teagan in a Montessori Pre-School this year.  She is one of the youngest in her class, but very excited and eager to learn.  She does great in groups and loves to play with anybody, as long as it doesn't include sharing with Hayes.  So she was very excited, up until the first day came and this is how it started.

By the time she got into her class, she got excited all over again.  It has been exciting for us to see the next part of Teagan's life begin.

Cruise - October 2010

This October, Matt and I had the opportunity to go on our first vacation without the kids.  Since we went on a cruise, communication was difficult because of where we were.  We had fun and hope to do another sometime soon.  We went on the 5 day Baja cruise to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada.   It was a blast.  In Cabo, we got to do the zip-line tours, which was a first for both of us.  You can see the fear on my face in the some of the pictures.  In Ensenada, we got to go on a Jeep tour that took us to the non-tourists areas of Ensenada.  We just put all of the pictures in a slideshow, so hopefully I explained enough to make sense of it all.

Kids playing on backyard water slide

Last year we bought Teagan a blow up slide in hopes that she would get over this little water "fear" that she has.  Today was the first time this year we have gotten to use it.  We have been to Roaring Springs a few times and she makes progress every time we go.  So this afternoon, we started from Teagan screaming, to she wanted to jump in the pool area, to she wanted to climb up the slide and go down like a big girl.  We were proud of her for getting over the water slide and being splashed in the face.

Hayes is our adventurous kid who does everything with a smile, so he had a great time splashing around watching his sister make a scene.

This is the look of a wild beast, or he is impersonating his dad when he gets mad, BUT he is really just yawing on the side of the pool.

As you can see, Teagan was pretty proud of herself for going down the slide, and finished with a big TA DA!
Hayes has the natural smile that always make us happy.  This was right after that big yawn.

Playing in the sprinklers...FINALLY!!!

The weather finally got nice enough for the kids to have the experience of running through the sprinklers.  Hayes was not as happy as Teagan during this new experience.

New addition to the family

We just got another puppy so Page would finally have a friend.  Mya is a Siberian Husky, and she is 7 weeks old.  We were skeptical at first to see how Page would react to a puppy coming into her home.  Page has been very welcoming and haven't had any issues.  Page ends up being the victim.  She is very good with kids and knows her boundaries with ours, and it has carried over to the puppy.  So as the puppy is biting her and playing,  Page looks at us for the ok to play.  Mya has even tried to nurse off of Page a couple of times, which she does not like.

This was the first time they met.
Later that day.

Child Labor

Hayes has made it a point to constantly go after garbage cans, plants, dog water and the lazy susan.  This time he quite a mess with a box of baking soda.  He wanted to make it up to us and clean it up.

Teagan even jumped in and helped out.

Hayes is 1!!!

It is absolutely amazing how fast time goes by. It just seems like Hayes was born, and now he is 1 and almost walking. When we first brought him the cake, he wasn't quite sure what to do with it. Matt of course got in trouble by trying to pull Hayes' head down into the cake. There is a picture of Brett covering his face and laughing about it. He had a blast and the cake eating was successful this time, unlike Teagan's disaster for her.

This is the Picture of Brett laughing because he thinks its funny that Matt is getting lectured by me.  Matt thought it was funny to capture the moment while being lectured, if you can find that surprising.

Catch Up Slideshow

This is everything we don't have posted. Obviously there is a A LOT MORE! But this is what I have for now. I will put one more up soon. Thought I would get as many pictures as possible to keep the family updated from abroad. I tried to keep it in chronological order.

Carla's first ski trip

I have always wanted my family to be a skiing family.  So I decided if I want my kids to ski, my wife has to ski.  She just had knee surgery in November, but she said she was up to it.  3 1/2 hours on the Bunny Hill and I got her to finally say she liked it and would try it again.  I am very proud of the progress she made.

Fiesta Bowl - January 4th, 2010

Matt went to the Fiesta Bowl with some friends to watch BSU beat TCU 17-10.  It was a long drive he wouldn't recommend to anyone.

This guy walks around and raps about whatever is around for money.  Matt ran into him 5 years ago in downtown Hollywood waiting in line for the Jimmy Kimmell Live Show.

Our newest family pictures

The pictures didn't work as initailly planned. Teagan was not wanting to take pictures with the family, so enjoy.  There was just absolutely no control in the situation, and we didn't win.

Disneyland 2009

We went to Disneyland (again) the first week of October.  It was a blast for the kids.  We had large group of our family with us, which had us continually running around.  Teagan's favorite ride was of course Dumbo (also her favorite movie).  Hayes was along for the ride and did an awesome job putting up with us and a drastic change of his schedule.  With all of the recent trips we had to Disneyland, we are thinking we will be putting off our next return to Disneyland when the kids are older.
